Portal Settings
Customize your portal, manage notifications, and understand plan-gated features.
Settings overview
Open Settings in the agency dashboard. Tabs include Account, Branding, Notifications, and Notion.
Branding
Customize how your portal looks to clients:
- Portal name — shown in the header and emails
- URL slug — your portal lives at
portalize.app/p/slug - Logo and favicon — Professional plan and above
- Primary color — accents buttons and highlights (Professional+)
- Hide "Powered by Portalize" — Agency plan only
Custom logo, colors, and favicon require the Professional plan or above. Client preview is also available on Starter during an active trial.
Preview as client
From Settings or the Clients page, open Preview portal to see the client experience without logging in as a real client. Preview uses a sample client context so you can verify scoping and layout.
Available on Professional and Agency plans, and on Starter during an active trial.
Email notifications
Under Notifications, control emails sent to your clients when new content appears in Notion:
- Email notifications — master toggle
- New projects, New tasks, New documents — per-type toggles
- Notify on client edits — email you when a client updates an editable field
New-item notifications are processed periodically by a background job that compares Notion data to previously seen records. They are not instant webhooks — expect a short delay after you add something in Notion.
Notion connection
The Notion tab shows your connection status. Use Reconnect if you need to re-authorize or grant access to additional databases. After adding a new database in Notion, open it and add Portalize under Connections if it does not appear in the view editor.

View layouts
When creating or editing a view, choose a layout on the Basics tab:
- List — compact rows, good for tasks and documents
- Table — columnar layout for many fields
- Cards — larger cards for projects or summaries
Clients can search and filter by status or select values on view pages. Advanced server-side filters in the view editor are not yet available.
